Remarks :A good population of this species survives (winters November till March 2nd week) in the plains of Banni Grasslands (area 3847 sq. kms). They prefer the /Suaeda fruticosa/ dominated halophyte vegetation area. Nine Stoliczka's Bushchats were counted in one hour in Banni on 5 January 2010. This was in an area of approximately 500 hectares ranging from Chahchlo to Vang and Bhagadia in Banni. No nest has been found so far in Banni, it is very much possible that this species nests on the edge of the Great Rann or in Banni area of Kutch. - JT Other areas of Kutch where Stoliczka's Bush Chat is seen is the grasslands of Naliya, near Lala watch tower, Kunathia grasslands (now turned to agriculture areas by land mafias), Bitta and Prajau grasslands of Kutch.
