| Remarks : | The smallest of our owl(et)s at 17 cms and also the most diurnal. It's a hill forest bird of the Himalayas and has an 'owl face' on its nape. The bird lost its lovely / apt name 'pygmy' to the cause of bird name standardization a few years ago.
Extremely bold, and in all the instances I have seen it (thrice) I have photographed it from minimum focus distance. - Ramki |
