| Red Data Status : | Unspecified |
| Remarks : | A bird that's threatening to push the Bugun Liocichla from its pedestal as the most sought after bird at Eaglenest.
The Hodgson's Frogmouth, though in range in the hills of the NE, had until now only few validated sightings from Bhutan. Now thanks to Shashank can be seen at Eaglenest. As per the field guide this should be a female, but Shashank, who has seen 12 individuals, says they were all the same colour. Is it possible that both the sexes have the same plumage (or are very similar), and the illustration shown is actually a colour morph? - RS |
