| Remarks : | These ducks are very common on shade trees of the Tea Garden during the monsoon. In winter they are the most common species found in the waterbodies nearby. The branches of shade trees are lopped off to allow more sunlight as well as to provide cooking fuel for workers. These birds love to rest on the remaining stump, and on a good morning one can see as many as 20-30 pairs; each on its own tree. - RKP |
