| Remarks : | The male Sri Lanka Frogmouth sitting on top of its chick - now about a week old.
As observed over the past fortnight, the male incubates in the daytime, and the female takes over at night. Here, the male relieves himself of nesting duties between 1815-1820 hrs and flies back to the roosting spot.
A fair amount of time later, the female takes a long route from the roosting spot to the nest, stopping at perches in between, to settle down on the nest by 1850 hrs. - RS |
