| Remarks : | With snow pounding the Western Himalaya, terraced cultivation and foliage along rustic villages above the Bhagirithi valley had plenty of food for the visiting avian. We sighted eleven species from the family Fringillidae here. Amongst, this chunky billed male clad in most striking silvery-pink balaclava, was found feeding on this epiphytic vine. He moved leisurely along the intricate twines plucking the dry pods and removing the seed from within. - GA |
