| Remarks : | Photograph taken during an Operation Wallacea field season.
This bird was photographed near sea-level, at an altitude of around 50m. Most sources list this as a montane species that only occurs >500m. However, we regularly record this species considerably below this altitude on Buton Island, and this photo is a nice demonstration that it is not a strictly montane species (at least locally). - Tom Martin |
