Unusual behaviour: I have seen this female Oriental Magpie Robin fishing just 7 to 10 feet away from me. The bird dived into the water and caught a fish and came before me, and then went to the bushes where she killed the fish and swallowed it. After half an hour again she came before me, waited some time, and again dived into the water and caught a bigger fish and went to the bushes. The second photograph was taken in very low light in the bushes. I have never seen an Oriental Magpie Robin fishing before. - BHG |
