| Remarks : | Saw this male Streak-throated Woodpecker searching for insects - probably ants - last Sunday. This bird captures these insects by a rapid outward flick of the long tongue, and they get gummed to its tip by sticky saliva. It was a wonderful experience to witness it from very close distance. - SS |
