| Remarks : | The bird was present for 2 days on this solitary trunk. During my limited time watching it spent it’s time sitting quietly and turning it’s head to look around the area. on several occasions it also gave the “neck-arching” or” bowing” display noted by other observers. It did not seem to be displaying toward another bird as there was no other suitable tree for quite a distance. Initially I thought it was preening but then noticed that it’s bill was clear of it’s plumage and it held the pose immobile for a few seconds on each occasion while clearly displaying the scarlet brows. - MPM |
