Photographer : © Prasad Ganpule
Location :near Morbi, Rajkot District, Gujarat, India
Date : 2 January 2009
English synonyms:Indian Red-breasted Flycatcher, Kashmir Red-breasted Flycatcher, Red-breasted Flycatcher, Himalayan Flycatcher
Bird Family :Muscicapini - Old World Flycatchers & Niltavas
Bird Group :PASSERIFORMES
Red Data Status :Vulnerable
Remarks :As per Grimmett & others the song of the Kashmir Flycatcher is given as a 'short, sweet phrase 'sweet-eat, sweet-eat-did-he?' but what I heard was like a 'sweet-sweet-tit-tee' with the 'tit-tee' like a Red-throated Flycatcher Ficedula parva.
I heard this song/call only for one day, and the bird could have been a passage migrant. I searched the area again but I did not see or hear the bird again. - PG
