| Remarks : | This photo is not of the correct subspecies for the Oriental Region, but the image is included here as representational of the species, since photos of the correct subspecies miyakoensis are unavailable. See taxonomic notes below. Miyakoensis would have entire head, neck and underparts rufous, no black line around the nape, and red feet and legs. Bill colour unknown.
As part of a survey for this species, the bird was captured in a mist net and fitted with radio telemetry (notice the "line" that extends down from its back). |
