| Remarks : | Two birds were calling behind the Research and Education Center. Suddenly, one bird flew from the forested hillside toward the building, struck a second-floor window, bounced off the glass and flew to a tree, landing about 10m up, where it remained for several minutes before flying to the ground, apparently uninjured. It alighted on a log, then walked out of sight.
Taiwan Partridge’s rising crescendo call of ‘guru, guru, guru….’ is often heard, but the bird is seldom seen due to its secretiveness and wariness. This set of three images may be the only photographs of Taiwan Partridge in a tree. - JAM
