| Remarks : | A bird in captivity. The photo shows very well the distinctive 'tear drop' black facial markings, black tuft at the base of the bill, and dark body colouration that make this form distinct. This species is heavily trapped for the bird trade and has become extremely difficult to see in the wild [for more information see Shepherd (2007) BirdingAsia 8: 49-52]. - NB
