| Remarks : | Small flocks of these birds are often seen in hunting parties of their own and the call Poooi poooooi pooooi is even more commonly heard! The call, loud, clear and bubbly and partly metallic (similar frequency to that of the Indian Scimitar Babbler I guess!) is uttered about 5-6 times decreasing in intensity from the first to the last note. The birds also use another note like a chirp when foraging, possibly to give out their location to the others [contact call]. - SKS |
