| Remarks : | Eurasian Eagle Owl at its camouflaging best: We had been looking hard for this bird as Adesh knew
it is found here. We were atop a hillock of rocks which overlooks a valley. There was no sign of it but Adesh kept scanning every corner with his binocs. Finally he found it in the valley below, hiding in this grass. We tried to see through our binocs, but the camouflage was
so good that we were seeing it & yet could not locate it. Eventually, when Adesh set up his spotting scope & we looked through it, we realised that we had been actually looking at it . It sat there for a good half an hour before flying off. The flight was so sudden & swift that all of us with our cameras absolutely ready, couldn't get a
single shot between the 23 of us. The wingspan caused our jaws to drop though!!! - SD |
