| Remarks : | The chick is ten days old. The nest cement is the saliva of the swiftlet and for the Black-nest Swiftlets this is mixed with feathers from the bird’s plumage. The yellowish material is the “hinge” of the nest which secures it to the cave wall. When initially deposited, it is whitish in colour but gradually turns to yellow over time. - LCK |
