| Remarks : | The chicks were first seen about 3 to 4 weeks prior to this photo and appeared completely black except for the beak. They could not be photographed as the chicks remained hidden in the reeds. The current photos shows the chick being led outside by the parent White-browed Crake, probably to learn to forage for food. The chick is still being fed by the parent intermittently. I would estimate the chick to be at least 4 weeks old or greater. - PS |
