| Remarks : | Spotted Flycatcher Muscicapa striata is described as a winter visitor to Baluchistan and the Himalayas in Pakistan and a passage migrant in Pakistan and north-western regions of India (Grimett et al. 2011; Rasmussen & Anderton 2012). The southernmost record of this species from peninsular India is from Pune in 2015, which itself was a 500 km range extension from its previously known distribution in Gujarat (Image by Raghunat Iyer on OBI and published in Indian BIRDS 11(2)). This record from Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary- Goa as on date stands as the southernmost record for this species in India. - PB |
