| Remarks : | Note that the chin and throat on this bird appear blackish, contra the description of this subspecies in e.g. Madge & McGowan Pheasants, Partridges and Grouse where it is stated that this subspecies, which occurs on the Langbian massif, is distinguished by having "rufous throat paler than other forms and mixed with white". Further research may be needed into the subspecific variation within this species. - Ed |
