| Remarks : | Sitting smugly below the canopy inside the lowland secondary forest near Kuala Lumpur, this Banded Broadbill had a black necklace below its throat, indicating that it was a male, in contrast with the Silver-breasted Broadbill Serilophus lunatus where the female bird more appropriately wears a whitish necklace. Its cartoon-like turquoise blue bill and the striking yellow markings on its wings stand out well in the shadow of the trees. - DL |
