| English synonyms: | Asian Black Eagle, Indian Black Eagle |
| Bird Family : | Accipitrinae - Hawks, Bazas, Honey-buzzards, Eagles, Kites, Vultures, Harriers & Buzzards |
| Bird Group : | CICONIIFORMES |
| Red Data Status : | Least Concern |
| Remarks : | Male on the left, female on the right. I was not aware of differences in male/female Black Eagle either, but the
folks here in Yogya have been looking at these Eagles breeding for a number of years and say they can identify by the intensity of yellow on the cere. With these individuals the difference in cere and foot yellow intensity is quite clear. This pair successfully bred last year and were seen mating again last week near the same nest site. - NK |
