| Date : |

| English synonyms: | Black-throated Prinia, Hill Prina (superciliaris) |
| Bird Family : | Cisticolidae - Cisticolas, Prinias & Scrub Warblers |
| Bird Group : | PASSERIFORMES |
| Red Data Status : | Least Concern |
| Remarks : | Endemic subspecies restricted to the summit areas of Gunung Tahan (Mount Tahan), on the Titiwangsa (mountain) Range, Peninsular Malaysia. Name "Hill" Prinia is somewhat (arguably) a misnomer if the habitats throughout its range are found mostly 1,000-2,000m and above. "Hill" Prinia is somehow quaint for a dainty bird as "Mountain" sounds harsher for this fragile looking but isolated subspecies. Hope to change its name as least for P. Malaysia to befit its very lofty abode (habitats) on the highest mountain in Peninsular Malaysia. In any event some Hill Prinia subspecies may be the subject of splits in future as with many other similar subspecies splits. - MC |
