| Remarks : | The Hill Prinia subspecies P. a. waterstradti is only known to occur around and at the summit areas of Gunung Tahan (Mount Tahan) in Taman Negara National Park, Pahang, Malaysia (Peninsular Malaysia). It was observed at the pre-summit and summit areas of Gunung Tahan at c.2,000 to 2,187m at the peak of the mountain. Although it was fairly common at the pre-summit areas, obtaining images of the bird is very challenging as the once very low elfin forest habitat around the camp site has improved from years of human visitation and grown much taller and thicker. Currently, the only way to observe this subspecies is to scale the 2,187m Gunung Tahan. Another (possible) challenge is to discover if it occurs at other mountain peak areas above 2,000m in Peninsular Malaysia, if it occurs there at all.
