| Remarks : | Originally submitted as the first record of European Greenfinch from India. The images were later re-assessed and identified as a female Common Rosefinch in post-breeding moult. Key features in the re-identification were the shape and colour of the bill; presence of wing bars (albeit heavily abraded); the fact that the plumage is very worn, whereas in Greenfinch it would be fresh after a post-breeding moult on the breeding grounds. - Eds. |
