| Remarks : | An interesting feature of the Red-necked Phalarope are its feet. Each individual toe has a flap-like extension, which helps it to swim. Masked Finfoot and coots have a similar feature. The attached photo shows its flap-like toes as it preens itself at the water's edge. - DL |
