| Remarks : | I was looking at a hillside from the vehicle window when I saw an eagle land abruptly on the ground. It stood beside an adult Himalayan Marmot Marmota himalayana then hopped once or twice. I called for Mr. Ao, the driver, to stop and back up.
Swinging my camera out the window I began firing away, uncertain as to exactly what was going on. The eagle began flying off, clutching a baby marmot, the mother staring forlornly at its lost young. This is the best picture I could get in the circumstances, its interest abetted by the eagle's missing secondary feathers which provide a cleaner view of the massive talons. - PJ |
