| Remarks : | We saw six species of snowfinch on our tour with the Oriental Bird Club across the Tibetan Plateau. This one, the attractive Rufous-necked Snowfinch, was the most common.
As a group snowfinches were not particularly wary but they hardly ever stayed still for more than a moment. Usually they had their bills to the ground, feverishly foraging on whatever seeds or insects they could find. Either that or they were flying off to the next mountain.
This one sat nicely in the morning sun for a few seconds and I was able to obtain an image. - PJ |
