Mr. Chewang Bonpo has a good knowledge on birds, bird calls and bird distribution of Northeast India. Having being born in Kewzing near Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary, South Sikkim, he spent most of his childhood vacation days in rural Sikkim and taken up Birdwatching for the past six years in Sikkim. He has developed a love for wildlife of Sikkim and Eastern Himalayas and is working as a Bird guide in the North East for Mr. Peter Lobo (Adventure Gurudogmar) after his graduation.
Mr. Chewang Bonpo is nowadays simultaneously working in a Non-governmental Organization known as ECOSS (Ecotourism and Conservation Society of Sikkim), which is not only promoting ecotourism in rural parts of Northeast India but is also actively involved in conservation related issues.
