I was born in 1977 in Yogyakarta to a poor immigrant family (my grandfather was from China). My Father and children from 1992 until 1997 try hard for get recognized as Indonesian Citizens. My last formal education was at the Biology Faculty of Atma Jaya University, Indonesia. My ambition was to become a researcher in wildlife.
In 2000 I developed an interest in Lepidoptera especially Butterflies. In 2001 I was introduced to birdwatching by my lector, Ign. Pramana Yuda, M.Sc, one of Indonesia's ornithologists. In 2002 active birdwatching in Yogyakarta Region.
In 2003 I joined the Kutilang Indonesia Foundation as a volunteer, initiate for Jogja Bird Walk (birdwatching for in Yogyakarta Province) until this year (now named Java Bird Walk). In mid 2003 I began to study wildlife photography with minimal equipment and joined Raptor Indonesia (raptor watch network in Indonesia).
