Cheong Weng Chun is currently based in Putrajaya Wetland, Malaysia. His birding experience started during his study in Bachelor of Forestry Science (majoring in Parks and Recreation Management) at Universiti Putra Malaysia. Learning from the bird guide of Fraser's Hill,
Durai and some exposure from a wildlife course with Dr. Zakaria, he still considers himself an amateur in bird watching and photography. His interest in birds grew when he was first attached to Paya Indah Wetlands (1999-2001). Later, taking more deeper interest through
digiscoping (impressed by Laurence Poh's work) and photography with DSLR.
