| | I'm Franz Steinhauser, and only active in birdwatching since one year.
At this time we just opened a new resort (www.wedaresort.com) in Central
Halmahera (Sawai Itepo) specialized in diving and birding. One of the main
goals of the resort is to preserve the primary forest (in our backyard) as
much as possible. We have our own lek (Standardwing-bird of paradise) at
only a short easy walk from the road. The primary forest near the resort
has given us a view of 24 out of the 28 endemic species of Halmahera. The
invisible rail is already heard, but not seen. |
