| Nature is like my second existence. I loved to observe nature and to get absorbed in it since my early childhood. I always love to watch interesting behaviour of wildlife, especially birds as it is an everlasting source of immense joy and solace to me.
I am an amateur photographer. Though I started taking photographs since my school days, I consider myself as a beginner regarding both photography and bird watching. I possess a Canon 400D DSLR camera and only a 70-300mm short zoom lens.
I started my career as a lecturer in Economics and Statistics in different colleges in Calcutta and Bombay and then used to work as a software programmer for several years. Later, due to family constraints, I had to quit my job and settled down as a full time home maker.
At present I am associated with a few organisations and e-groups who are involved in bird related studies, bird photography, nature conservation and public awareness programmes. I have also worked with the State Forest Department in some bird and butterfly projects. For the last couple of years I have participated in migratory bird censuses in different locations organised by the State Forest Department of West Bengal. This year I also participated in a project - a joint venture by the State Forest Department of Tripura and a Japanese organisation - to help creating the database regarding birds and mammals of Tripura.
