|Bird Family :||Columbidae - Pigeons & Doves |
|Bird Group :||COLUMBIFORMES |

|Remarks :||Although the typical yellow orbital skin of Yellow-eyed Pigeon (YEP) is distinctive, there are several major features in which this bird differs from a normal Yellow-eyed Pigeon (YEP):
1. YEP does not normally have such a strong bluish hue.
2. The black markings which form bars on the greater coverts and secondaries on YEP are completely absent on this bird.
3. Although YEP has a variably pale back, it is totally unlike the contrasting, relatively narrow white bar on the lower back of this bird.
4. There is no evidence of the normal YEP tail colouration of grey shading into black as it gets toward the tip.
