Date : 3 April 2014
English synonyms:Crimson breasted Flowerpecker
Bird Family :Dicaeini - Flowerpeckers & mistletoebird
Bird Group :PASSERIFORMES
Red Data Status :Least Concern
Remarks :There is limited informational locally on the calls of the Crimson-breasted Flowerpecker. Wells (2007) states ‘A monosyllabic weg (Madoc). Song undescribed.’ Robson (2002) describes it as ‘repeated sharp high pitched teez tit-ti and buzzy whit-whit or vit-vit’.

I have often heard the ‘buzz’ call that this bird makes. Often this call is a single note or two in quick succession. Attached call recording (amplified, with noise reduction), and an image of the Waveform & Spectrogram.

The bird was making the calls while enjoying a juicy berry. - Amar
