| Remarks : | The best field features, in separating it from other potential confusion species - Limestone and Streaked Wren Babblers and Sooty Babbler, especially in the dull light of the understorey are:
1. Pale iris
2. White crescent behind the ear
3. White throat patch with black spots (like a short kipper tie)
4. Dark bill (from Sooty Babbler)
